Fast Castle
"Positioned on a promontory of land guarding the Firth of Forth, Fast Castle has had a colourful history including extended periods of occupation by English forces, embroilment in several attempted coups and later, once abandoned and ruined, was used for smuggling and ship wrecking." (from castlesfortsbattles.co.uk)
There's not really much to see here - really just a few ruined wall segments, BUT what a place to visit! The setting is beautiful, this really would have been a sight to behold in it's heyday!
Caution - there are unfenced cliffs around Fast Castle area so keep to the paths
